Tiffen 52mm 81C Light Balancing Filter
The Tiffen 52mm 81C Light Balancing Filter helps to decrease the colour temperature by 400K in order to slightly warm the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. When using an 81C filter, you will be able to achieve a 3200K balance when the dominant light source is 3600K. The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.3 stop increase in exposure for normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
- The light balancing filter decreases the colour temperature and produces a warming effect.
- Subtracts 400K in order to obtain a colour balance of 3200K from 3600K lighting.
- The filter factor of 1.3 requires an increase in exposure of 0.3 stops.
