Tiffen 52 mm 82A light balancing filter
The Tiffen 52 mm 82A light balancing filter allows you to increase the colour temperature by 200 K to slightly cool the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. When using an 82A filter, you can achieve a 3200 K balance when the dominant light source is 3000 K. The cooling effect of this filter requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stops for normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- The light balancing filter increases colour temperature and provides a cooling effect.
- Adds 200 K to achieve a colour balance of 3200 K from 3000 K lighting.
- The filter factor of 1.3 requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stops.
