Tiffen 81EF 58mm light balancing filter
The Tiffen 81EF 58mm light balancing filter allows you to decrease colour temperature by 650K in order to slightly warm the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. By using an 81EF filter, you will be able to achieve a 3200K balance when the dominant light source is 3850K. The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.6 stop increase in exposure for normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 optical glass elements, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
- The light balancing filter decreases colour temperature and provides a warming effect.
- Subtracts 650K to achieve a 3200K colour balance from 3850K lighting.
- The filter factor of 1.5 requires a 0.6 stop increase in exposure.
