Tiffen Orange Filter #16 (58mm)

The Tiffen 58mm orange filter #16 is a filter designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography. The contrast effect will be greater than the yellow filter #15 when taking B&W landscape, marine or aerial photographs. It thus makes skies more dramatic and darker. The filter has a filter factor of 3, so you must increase your exposure by 1 2/3 stops to compensate.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is polished. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
