Tiffen Orange #16 Filter (72mm)
The Tiffen Orange #16 72mm filter is a filter designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography. The contrast effect will be more pronounced than that of the Yellow #15 filter when taking black and white landscape, marine or aerial photographs. Consequently, it makes skies more dramatic and darker. The filter has a filter factor of 3, so you need to increase your exposure by 1 2/3 stops to compensate.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is ground and polished. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
