Tiffen Double Fog 3 52mm Filter
The Tiffen Double Fog 3 52mm filter simulates the effects of natural fog or mist by creating a soft glow around highlights and reducing the overall contrast of the scene. Compared to the standard Fog filter, this filter places greater emphasis on contrast reduction whilst maintaining sharpness and minimising halo effects. Density 3 provides a noticeable fog effect and requires no exposure compensation.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- Creates a fog effect with significantly reduced overall contrast.
- Maintains greater sharpness and is less affected by overexposure halos than the standard Fog filter.
- Density 3 produces a noticeable fog effect.
- Does not require any exposure compensation to account for the filter effect.
