Tiffen 28mm Essential Photography Filter Kit

This kit includes: a UV protective filter, an 812 warming filter, a circular polarizer and a storage pouch for 4 filters.

UV Protective Filters

Haze (UV) filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired, they can be left on the lens permanently for continuous protection. Haze filters offer additional correction benefits for ultraviolet (UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a blue cast and can obscure distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct the UV effect to varying degrees.

812 Filters

Tiffen's exclusive 812 filter enhances skin tones and is ideal for portraits taken in overcast weather or outdoors in the shade on a sunny day. It also absorbs the blue cast often caused by electronic flash and adds warmth to pale and washed-out complexions.

Circular Polarizers

Reflected light rays become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours, providing better contrast. The effect can be observed through the viewfinder and modified by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation of the filter and its orientation relative to the sun. The filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approximately +1.3 stops).

Circular polarizers are specially designed for use with autofocus reflex cameras (they also work without any problem on manual systems and video cameras).
