The Tiffen 37mm Deluxe 3 Video Filter Starter Kit makes it easy and practical for students or professionals in the video industry to work. The kit includes three basic, but necessary filters for video.
The UV protector is designed to prevent moisture and dirt from reaching the front lens element of your objective. This filter also eliminates UV haze when shooting at high altitude and it is recommended to leave this filter in place permanently.
The 0.6 neutral density filter is an important filter to own as it reduces the amount of light entering the lens by two stops. The ND filter also allows the video camera to film with wider apertures without overexposing the scene, in addition to achieving a shallower depth of field in the shot.
Unlike digital cameras, film cannot perform white balance under fluorescent lights, but the FL-D filter provides this solution. By not correcting the film for this type of lighting, it will capture the green cast emitted by fluorescent lighting. Using the filter will produce true-to-life colours and pleasing skin tones on people.
Tiffen filters are created using the ColorCore process, which permanently laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass. The optical glass is ground and polished flat; therefore, the filter material between the glass is never affected. The finished product is finally mounted in an aluminium ring.

37mm UV Protection Filter
The Tiffen 37mm UV Protection Filter is a general use clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when shooting at high altitude or around bodies of water. No additional colouration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to be left on lenses permanently. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratches could occur.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.

37mm 0.6 Neutral Density Filter
The Tiffen 37mm 0.6 Neutral Density Filter is a solid ND filter with a 4x filter factor that provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing down your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can more easily control depth of field and convey motion. Neutral density filters do not affect the colouration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

37mm FL-D Fluorescent Glass Filter for Daylight Film
A Tiffen 37mm FL-D filter is used when you wish to correct the greenish cast that appears when shooting with daylight film under general-purpose fluorescent lighting.  
NOTE: The FL filter series alone does not always guarantee 100% correct colour balance when shooting under fluorescent lighting. These are general-purpose filters intended for moderate correction and will not necessarily provide perfect colour reproduction on their own.
An FL-W filter is used to balance daylight film under warm white or white fluorescent lamps. An FL-B filter is used to correct the colour balance when shooting with tungsten film under fluorescent lighting.
Fluorescent lamps operate at many different temperatures and often require more demanding filtration to achieve accurate results. For specific filtration and professional use, it is strongly recommended to use a colour temperature meter along with colour correction filters (e.g. CC30M) when shooting under fluorescent lighting. This is the only proven method to achieve exact colour correction.
