Tiffen 43 mm Photo Essentials Filter Kit

This kit includes: a UV protection filter, an 812 warming filter, a circular polariser and a storage pouch for 4 filters.

UV Protection Filters

Haze (UV) filters are wise initial investments. They help to protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired, they can be left on the lens permanently for protection. Haze filters provide additional correction benefits for ultraviolet (UV) light which can appear on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can mask distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.

812 Filters

Tiffen's exclusive 812 filter enhances skin tones and is ideal for portraits taken in overcast weather or outdoors in the shade on sunny days. It also absorbs the blue cast often caused by electronic flash and adds warmth to pale, washed-out skin tones.

Circular Polarisers

Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours by providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation of the filter and its orientation to the sun. The filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approximately +1.3 stops).

Circular polarisers are specifically designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (they also work without any problems on manual systems and video cameras).
