Tiffen 46 mm Digital Light Control Filter Kit

The Tiffen 46 mm Digital Light Control Filter Kit contains three highly useful filters to help achieve better control over exposure results and the overall appearance of images. These filters, a circular polariser, a 0.6 uniform neutral density filter and a 0.6 graduated neutral density filter, are ideally suited for use with digital SLR cameras due to their increased sensitivity to light. Each of these filters can offer a unique advantage for working in challenging lighting conditions to produce well-exposed and balanced images.
Each of these filters measures 46 mm and they are presented in a padded nylon filter pouch for protection during transport.
Circular polariser
A circular polariser helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering light that has become polarised due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The result is a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imaging when shooting in hazy conditions. A circular polariser differs from a linear polariser in that it supports the full use of a camera's autofocus and auto-exposure functions.
Uniform neutral density
A uniform neutral density filter creates an overall, even darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can more easily control depth of field and represent movement. Neutral density filters do not affect the colouration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters. This filter has a density of 0.6, providing a two-stop reduction in exposure.
Graduated neutral density
A graduated neutral density filter helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image whilst allowing a portion of the image to remain unaffected by filtration. The filter is denser on the edge and fades to become transparent in the middle, with a soft line between the dense and clear areas. This filter also has a density of 0.6, providing a two-stop reduction in exposure for the area covered by the density.
Tiffen ColorCore technology
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
