Tiffen 49 mm Essential Photo Filter Kit
This kit consists of a UV protection filter, an 812 warming filter, a circular polariser and a 4-pocket filter pouch.
UV Protection Filters
UV (haze) filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired, they can be left on the lens at all times for constant protection. Haze filters offer additional benefits of correcting ultraviolet (UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.
812 Filters
Tiffen's exclusive 812 filter enhances flesh tones and is ideal for portraits taken in overcast conditions or outdoors in the shade on a sunny day. It also absorbs the bluish cast often caused by electronic flash and adds warmth to pale and washed-out complexions.
Circular Polarisers
Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours by providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and altered by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to the rotation of the filter and its orientation to the sun. The filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approximately +1.3 stop).
Circular polarisers are specifically designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (they also work perfectly on manual systems and video cameras).
