Tiffen 58mm Digital Enhancement Filter Kit
Comprising a set of useful and versatile filters for general shooting applications, the Tiffen 58mm Digital Enhancement Filter Kit brings together four 58mm filters and a protective pouch. The included filters are the Digital Ultra Clear, which serves as a simple clear filter to protect the lens; a Circular Polariser, which helps improve contrast and saturation whilst reducing reflections; an 812 Warming Filter, which increases overall warmth and enhances skin tones; and an Enhancing Filter which increases the saturation of reddish and earth tones.
Digital Ultra Clear Filter 58mm
The Tiffen 58mm Digital Ultra Clear Filter is a simple, clear filter designed for general protection of your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect overall image quality whilst helping to reduce dust, scratches, moisture and other elements that could damage your lens. Its Water White glass construction is optically pure and maintains consistent light transmission and clarity.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- The clear filter provides general protection for your lens from the elements.
- Water White glass is optically pure to provide remarkable image fidelity and clarity.

Circular Polarising Filter 58mm
Tiffen 58mm Circular Polarising Filters - Light rays that are reflected become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your lens. They can eliminate unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours by providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation of the filter and its orientation to the sun.
If you're out and about on a beautiful day - in the mountains or at the beach - and want to take a stunning photograph of a sky filled with clouds or make the water more saturated, then a polariser is the solution. This filter is the best way to bring out clouds, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease reflection on water. You can also use this filter to photograph through glass or windows as it will again allow you to increase or decrease reflections.
If you are photographing in black and white and wish to simulate a threatening storm, try using a #25 red filter. The landscape will take on the appearance of an imminent and threatening storm.
Along with a UV or Skylight filter, a polarising filter should be part of everyone's equipment. It can transform an ordinary image into a creative and spectacular photograph by increasing colour saturation.
Note: Circular polarisers are specially designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (They will also work without any problems on manual systems)
- This filter eliminates ultraviolet rays from outdoor shots and polarises light to suppress reflections and increase colour saturation, without affecting overall colour balance
- Can significantly enhance a blue sky and make clouds more visible
- Best result at right angles to the sun
- Effective with cameras using beam splitters in the TTL metering path and with AF cameras

812 Warming Filter 58mm
Ideal for portraiture, the Tiffen 58mm 812 Warming Filter is used to enhance skin tones when working in cool lighting conditions. This filter provides a greater warming effect than a skylight 1-A filter and is well suited for outdoor use on overcast days or in sunny weather when working in the shade. It can also be used to absorb the strong blue cast of electronic flash for more balanced and natural skin tones.
The filter is manufactured using Tiffen's ColorCore technology, which involves laminating the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch and mounting it in an aluminium alloy ring.
- The warming filter enhances skin tones when shooting outdoors on overcast days or in the shade on sunny days.
- Absorbs the blue cast caused by electronic flash for more natural results.
- ColorCore technology, which permanently laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, maintains image clarity, precision and consistency.
- The aluminium filter ring is both lightweight and durable.

Enhancing Filter 58mm
The Tiffen 58mm Enhancing Filter is a combination of rare earth elements in glass. It removes part of the spectrum in the orange region, increasing colour saturation of reddish objects by eliminating muddy tones and maximising red hues with minimal effect on other colours.
We all love autumn. When the leaves begin to change colour, we are all in awe of their timeless beauty. Capturing those magnificent colours on film or digitally becomes a priority for any keen photographer. The Enhancing filter is one of the most valuable tools for this type of nature photography. An Enhancer increases saturation at the red/orange end of the spectrum and makes earth tones fully saturated and vibrant. Colours appear to "pop".
You'll find that the Enhancing filter works best in photography early in the morning or late afternoon - when the light is strong rather than the semi-washed-out lighting of midday. This filter is also optimised for use on overcast autumn days. Try it on an old barn or wooden bridge.
Tiffen manufactures the Enhancing filter in many sizes to accommodate the multiple uses of this filter. This filter can be used by professionals and amateurs alike, weekend photographers or professional directors of photography, and should be considered an essential addition to any photographic arsenal.
Tiffen, a leader in the filter industry, proudly manufactures its filters in the United States and backs its products with a solid 10-year warranty.
- Its most frequent use is to obtain highly saturated photographs of autumn foliage
- Enhances earth tones (i.e. reds, oranges)
