Tiffen 58 mm essential photo filter kit
This kit includes: a UV protection filter, an 812 warming filter, a circular polariser and a pouch for 4 filters.
UV protection filters
Haze (UV) filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired, they can be left on the lens permanently for protection. Haze filters provide additional correction benefits for ultraviolet (UV) light that can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. UV filters allow you to correct the UV effect to varying degrees.
812 filters
Tiffen's exclusive 812 filter enhances skin tones and is ideal for portraits taken in overcast weather or outdoors in the shade on a sunny day. It also absorbs the blue cast often caused by electronic flash and adds warmth to pale and washed-out complexions.
Circular polarisers
Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours, providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and adjusted by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation of the filter and its orientation to the sun. The filter factor ranges between 2.3 and 2.8 (approximately +1.3 stops).
Circular polarisers are specially designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (they also work seamlessly on manual systems and video cameras).
