The Tiffen Deluxe 3 Video Intro Filter Kit 72mm makes life easier for students or professionals in the video industry. The kit includes three basic but necessary filters for video.
The UV protector is designed to prevent moisture and dirt from reaching the front lens element of your objective. This filter also eliminates UV haze when shooting at high altitude and it is recommended to leave it on the objective at all times.
The 0.6 neutral density filter is an important filter as it reduces the amount of light entering the lens by two stops. The ND filter also allows the video camera to film with wider apertures without overexposing the scene, in addition to achieving a shallower depth of field in the shot.
Unlike digital cameras, film cannot balance the whites under fluorescent lighting, but the FL-D filter brings this solution. Without correcting the film for this type of lighting, it would capture the green tint emitted by fluorescent lighting. Using the filter will give lifelike colours and pleasing skin tones.
Tiffen Filters are created using the ColorCore process, which permanently laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass. The optical glass is polished and flattened; thus, the filter material between the glass is never affected. The finished product is finally mounted in an aluminium ring.
 
72mm UV Protection Filter
The Tiffen 72mm UV Protection Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or near bodies of water. No additional colouration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture that could reach your lens and offer additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratches could occur.
Tiffen Filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it to precision metal rings.

The Tiffen 72mm 0.6 Neutral Density Filter is a solid ND filter with a 4x filter factor that provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than would normally be required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can control depth of field and more easily convey movement. Neutral density filters do not affect the colouration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

72mm FL-D Glass Filter for Daylight Film
A Tiffen 72mm FL-D Filter is used to correct the greenish cast that appears when shooting with daylight film under general fluorescent lighting.  
NOTE: The FL filter series alone does not always guarantee 100% correct colour balance when shooting under fluorescent lighting. These are general-purpose filters intended for moderate correction and will not necessarily provide, by themselves, perfect colour rendering.
An FL-W filter is used to balance daylight film under warm white or white type fluorescent lamps. An FL-B filter is used to correct colour balance when shooting with tungsten film under fluorescent lighting.
Fluorescent lamps operate at different temperatures and often require more demanding filtration for accurate results. For specific filtration and professional use, it is strongly recommended to use a colour temperature meter with colour correction filters (e.g. CC30M) when shooting under fluorescent lighting. This is the only proven method to achieve exact colour correction.
