Tiffen 77 mm Black and White Three Filter Kit
The Tiffen 77 mm Black and White Three Filter Kit combines the essential contrast filters Yellow #6, Green #13 and Red #25, along with a four-pocket filter pouch, to provide a convenient solution for producing different degrees of contrast when using black and white film.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
Light Yellow Filter 1 #6 77 mm
A Tiffen 77 mm Light Yellow #6 Filter is used for a slight increase in contrast with black and white film. Although not as powerful as a traditional Yellow #8, it can still be used to make a difference in your photography. You will find that it increases your contrast just enough to make the difference between a black and white print that looks "flat" and one that displays proper correction.
Tiffen's ColorCore glass is produced by a process that involves permanently laminating the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, polished to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting them in precision aluminium rings.
Particularly useful for adding contrast between blue sky with clouds and the foreground
Tiffen's ColorCore glass is sealed between two sheets of optical glass. In this way, Tiffen can better control the different densities of its filters and thus create more precise degrees of filtration. This process allows for greater colour accuracy compared to simply tinted glass which is subject to variations during the colouring process.
Tiffen, the industry leader in filters, proudly manufactures its filters in the USA and backs its products with a solid 10-year warranty

Green Filter #13 (2) 77 mm
The Tiffen 77 mm Green #13 (2) Filter is a basic contrast filter, primarily used with black and white film. This green filter subtly darkens skies and lightens foliage. It is commonly used for portraiture and to achieve greater separation between skin tones and outdoor backgrounds. Compared to the Yellow-Green #11 filter, the #13 helps to lighten foliage and other green-coloured subjects even more.
This filter has a filter factor of 2x, requiring a 1-stop increase for normal exposure. Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.

Red Filter #25 (77 mm)
The Tiffen 77 mm Red #25 Filter is a filter designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography and create separation between tones. Using this filter creates dramatic skies or simulates a moonlit scene during the day by slightly underexposing the image and also eliminating haze and fog. Infrared film is enhanced with extreme contrast, rendering skies even more dramatic and foliage white in landscape photographs. The filter has a filter factor of 8, so you need to increase your exposure by 3 stops to compensate.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is ground and polished. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
