The Tiffen 3-Filter Deluxe Video Introduction Kit 82 mm makes life easier for students or professionals in the video industry. The kit includes three basic but necessary filters for video work.
The UV protector is designed to prevent moisture and dirt from reaching the front element of your lens. This filter also eliminates UV haze when shooting at altitude and it is recommended to leave it on permanently.
The 0.6 neutral density filter is an important filter as it reduces the amount of light entering the lens by two stops. The ND filter also allows the video camera to film with wider apertures without overexposing the scene, as well as achieving a shallower depth of field in the shot.
Unlike digital cameras, films cannot white balance under fluorescent lights, but the FL-D filter provides this solution. Without correction of the film for this type of lighting, it will capture the green cast emitted by fluorescent lighting. Using the filter will achieve true-to-life colours and pleasing skin tones on people.
Tiffen filters are created using the ColorCore process, which permanently laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass. The optical glass is polished and flattened; thus, the filter material between the glasses is never affected. The finished product is finally mounted in an aluminium ring.
 
82 mm UV Protection Filter
The Tiffen 82 mm UV Protection filter is a general-use clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when shooting at high altitude or near bodies of water. No additional colouration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave permanently on lenses. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture that could reach your lens and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratches could occur.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.

The Tiffen 82 mm 0.6 Neutral Density filter is a uniform ND filter with a 4x filter factor that provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing down your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the colouration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

82 mm FL-D Glass Filter for Daylight Film
A Tiffen 82 mm FL-D filter is used when you want to correct the greenish cast that appears when shooting with daylight film under general fluorescent lighting.  
NOTE: FL series filters do not always guarantee 100% correct colour balance on their own when shooting under fluorescent lighting. These are general-purpose filters intended for moderate correction and will not necessarily provide perfect colour rendering by themselves.
An FL-W filter is used to balance daylight film under warm white or white fluorescent lamps. An FL-B filter is used to correct colour balance when shooting with tungsten film under fluorescent lighting.
Fluorescent lamps operate at very different temperatures and often require more demanding filtration to obtain accurate results. For specific filtration and professional use, it is strongly recommended to use a colour temperature meter with colour correction filters (e.g. CC30M) when shooting under fluorescent lighting. This is the only proven method for achieving exact colour correction.
