Tiffen 77 mm Indie Plus HV Filter Kit (1.5, 1.8, 2.1 Neutral Density Filters and Ultra Circular Polariser)
The Tiffen 77 mm Indie Plus HV Filter Kit is a complete set of filters (4 filters) for the outdoor photographer who wishes to create special effects without having to spend time in post-production. This combination of neutral density filters and a polariser gives you the freedom to create unique and effective images that would not normally be possible. The kit contains a set of ND 1.5 (5 stops), 1.8 (6 stops), 2.1 (7 stops) filters plus an Ultra Circular Polarising filter.
Neutral density filters allow you to use slower shutter speeds that can produce blur effects on nature, sport or any action of your choice, such as flowing water, birds in flight, cars - virtually anything you can imagine. They also enable beach or bright light photography when using high ISO sensitivities by allowing the use of slower shutter speeds. Whatever medium you use, whether film, digital, video or cinema, neutral density filters are highly valuable and should be part of every photographer's arsenal of tools. Some even use them on their iPhone to capture interesting images when a traditional camera is not to hand.
Neutral density filters allow you to photograph in conditions that would normally be impossible - particularly outdoors in snow, on the beach or in extremely bright light conditions. For the landscape photographer, whatever format used (film, digital, video or cinema), this filter is almost a necessity as it enables creative control to be maintained in difficult lighting conditions whilst preserving correct exposure.
The Ultra Circular Polariser is a remarkable filter designed to bring much more "punch" to your images. If a traditional polariser doesn't give you enough "pep", the "Ultra" polariser gives you a little more. It will intensify your blue skies even further - making the difference between a good photo and a superb image. It also makes clouds stand out even more than a traditional polariser. It can also be used to eliminate reflections on glass or water.
Tiffen uses the highest quality water-white glass which contains an anti-reflective and anti-glare coating. This glass reduces the greenish tint sometimes present in standard glass. Water-white glass allows precise colour transmission. It is transparent to the eye and is characterised by an optically pure composition that offers the highest possible image quality.
Neutral density filters have four main uses
- Allows the use of slow shutter speeds with high ISO sensitivities; create spectacular images with motion blur on subjects such as waterfalls, clouds or cars
- Allows greater creative control by enabling the use of larger apertures that help separate subjects from their background
- Reduces the amount of light entering the lens - allows the use of slower shutter speeds with higher ISO settings on digital cameras, high-speed films, video and cinema cameras
- It is always difficult to use cameras, digital or video, in bright light conditions such as snow, sand or other bright scenes as these conditions can easily cause overexposure. This filter eliminates the challenge of recording images in these conditions by allowing the photographer to control correct exposure whilst maintaining creative control
Ultra Circular Polariser
Increases contrast in the sky and makes cloud formations stand out to a greater degree than Tiffen's standard circular polariser
- Can be rotated to the desired degree of polarisation
- Can be combined with other filters to create even more spectacular effects
- Maximum polarisation is achieved when used at 90° to the sun
Superior quality
- Water-white glass, using Tiffen's ColorCore technology, is characterised by high transmission quality. Generally, it transmits 98 to 99% of light. It also possesses anti-glare and anti-reflective qualities that make it useful in many applications, including in the film industry, shop windows and art displays. The glass is virtually flawless and is becoming increasingly present in digital equipment
- The biggest Hollywood film studios trust Tiffen filters for their multi-million pound productions. Superior quality and design make Tiffen the preferred choice of filmmakers, professional photographers and even NASA
- Tiffen has also received an Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for its engineering excellence
- Tiffen, a leader in the filter industry, proudly manufactures its filters in the United States and guarantees its products with a solid 10-year warranty
