Tiffen 4 x 5" Black Pro-Mist 1/8 Filter
 
The Tiffen 4 x 5" Black Pro-Mist 1/8 Filter helps reduce the intensity of highlights whilst slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve detail across the entire image. The 1/8 density offers a very slight reduction in contrast and highlights, allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process which involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 5" / 101.6 x 127 mm.
- Pro-Mist filters offer low detail loss across the entire image compared to traditional diffusion and blur filters.
