Tiffen 52 mm Black Pro-Mist 3 Filter
 
The Tiffen 52 mm Black Pro-Mist 3 filter helps reduce the value of highlights whilst slightly reducing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image. Density 3 offers more contrast and highlight reduction than density 2, but less than 4, whilst allowing a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image compared to traditional diffusion and blur filters.
