Tiffen Pro-Mist 2 52 mm Filter
The Tiffen Pro-Mist 2 52 mm Filter helps reduce the intensity of highlights whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for minimising and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or softening filters, Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail. Density 2 offers more contrast and highlight reduction than 1, but less than 3, whilst providing a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- Pro-Mist filters offer minimal loss of image detail compared to traditional diffusion and softening filters.
