Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1/2 58mm Filter

The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1/2 58mm filter helps to reduce the intensity of highlights whilst slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion filter or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve detail across the entire image. Density 1/2 offers more contrast and highlight reduction than 1/4, but less than 1, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
