The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 3 58mm Filter helps reduce the intensity of highlights whilst slightly lowering overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and reducing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters offer minimal loss of detail across the entire image. The 3 density offers more highlight and contrast reduction than density 2, but less than 4, whilst providing a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
