Tiffen Pro-Mist 1/2 58mm Filter

The Tiffen Pro-Mist 1/2 58mm filter reduces the intensity of highlights whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and reducing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft-focus filter, Pro-Mist filters result in only minimal loss of detail across the entire image. The 1/2 density offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, whilst providing a soft, pastel-like light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that laminates the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinds it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounts it on precision metal rings.
