The Tiffen 58mm Warm Pro-Mist 2 filter helps reduce the intensity of highlights whilst significantly reducing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and smoothing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or blur filters, Pro-Mist filters retain most image detail. Density 2 offers moderate contrast and highlight reduction, allowing for a soft light quality with pastel tones.
This filter also combines the diffusion effect with an 812 warming filter to bring overall warmth to the image and enhance skin tones. This warming effect also helps reduce sensitivity to blue and diminish excessively cool tones in the scene.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
