Tiffen 62mm Soft/FX 2 Filter

The Tiffen 62mm Soft/FX 2 Filter can be used to purposely reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles in portraits or to apply a general softening effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness. A series of small lenses across the surface of this filter softens fine lines and textures, which can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject.
This filter has a grade of 2. Grades of 1/2, 1, 3, 4, and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number. When higher grade numbers are applied, a halation effect around highlights can be created to further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce the desired effect.
This filter is made from optical glass for clarity as well as colour fidelity. It is constructed using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
