Tiffen 62mm Soft/FX 3 Filter

The Tiffen 62mm Soft/FX 3 Filter can be used to deliberately reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles in portraits or to apply an overall softening effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness. An array of small lenses distributed over the surface of this filter smooths fine lines and textures, which can be useful for creating a more flattering result of the subject.
This filter has a grade of 3. Grades 1/2, 1, 2, 4 and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number. When higher grade numbers are applied, a halo effect around highlights can be created to further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce the desired effect.
This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
