Tiffen 62 mm Warm Soft/FX 3 filter

The Tiffen 62 mm Warm Soft/FX 3 filter can be used to create a warm cast over the entire image whilst intentionally reducing the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles in portraits, or to apply a general artistic softening effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness. An array of small lenses distributed across the surface of this filter smooths fine lines and textures, which can be useful for creating a more flattering result of the subject.
The warming effect of this filter can be achieved in daylight when this filter is used on a film camera system with daylight film, or on a digital camera system with its white balance set to daylight. The overall colouration of this filter reflects a mired shift value of +45.
This filter has a grade of 3. Grades 1/2, 1, 2, 4 and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number. When higher grade numbers are applied, a halo effect around highlights can be created to further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce the desired effect.
This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
