Warm Soft FX Filters
Tiffen Soft/FX filters are artistic blur filters. These filters feature a pattern of tiny lenses that blur small details, such as wrinkles and skin imperfections, whilst maintaining sharpness of larger details such as eyes. Soft/FX filters are available in most sizes, with gradations ranging from half to five, with density 5 offering the most pronounced softening effect. This filter is particularly effective for artistic blur portraits.
This filter combines the effects of Tiffen's Soft/FX series and their exclusive 812 warming filter.
Pro Mist Filters
The Pro-Mist and Warm Pro Mist filters, part of Tiffen's Hollywood/FX series, generally produce a glow on highlights that appears more as a "halo" than the more widespread diffusion effect of a fog filter. By keeping the glow closer to the subject, they create an almost pearlescent sheen on highlights. Available in different degrees of diffusion intensity (density 5 having the strongest effect), the lower densities of the filter are also used to reduce excess sharpness and contrast of modern film and lens combinations without detracting from the image. The Black Pro-Mist series also creates moderate image softening and moderate to strong glow on highlights, but with less lightening effect in shadow areas.
Both of these filters are also available in a "Warm" series which combines the Pro Mist effect with Tiffen's exclusive 812 warming filter.
