The Tiffen 67mm Warm Pro-Mist 2 filter helps reduce the intensity of highlights whilst significantly reducing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinema, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty. Unlike a traditional diffusion filter or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail. The 2 density offers moderate reduction of contrast and highlights, allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.
This filter also combines the diffusion effect with an 812 warming filter to bring overall warmth to the image and enhance skin tones. This warming effect also helps reduce blue sensitivity and soften overly cool tones in the scene.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
