Tiffen Ultra Contrast 3 77mm Filter

The Tiffen Ultra Contrast 3 77mm Filter can be used to intentionally reduce contrast when taking photos or recording video. By distributing ambient light towards darker areas of a scene, this filter is useful for helping to evenly balance the tonal range between highlights and shadows. Details are increased in shadow regions whilst glare and halation around highlights are deliberately limited.
This filter has a grade of 3. Grades 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4 and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
