Tiffen 82mm Black Pro-Mist 1/2 Filter
The Tiffen 82mm Black Pro-Mist 1/2 Filter helps to reduce highlight values whilst slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or softening filter, Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the image. The 1/2 density offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
- Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the image compared to traditional diffusion and softening filters.
