Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 2 82 mm Filter
The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 2 82 mm filter reduces highlight values while slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters offer low loss of detail across the entire image. Density 2 offers more contrast and highlight reduction than density 1, but less than density 3, whilst allowing a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
