Tiffen 82mm HDTV/FX 1 filter

The Tiffen 82mm HDTV/FX 1 filter is a softening and light diffusion filter specifically designed for high-definition imaging. This filter helps to reduce the hyper-sharpness generally associated with HD photography and produces an image quality closer to film photography. By slightly reducing contrast and sharpness, skin details appear smoother and details in shadows are more visible. The effects of this filter are more pronounced when used for video applications rather than still photography. This filter provides more softening than 1/2 density, but less than density 2.
This filter is manufactured from Water White glass and produced using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
