Tiffen 82mm HDTV/FX 2 Filter

The Tiffen 82mm HDTV/FX 2 Filter is a soft, smoothing and diffusion filter specially designed for use with high-definition imaging. This filter helps reduce the hyper-sharpness typically associated with HD photography and produces an image quality closer to film photography. By slightly reducing contrast and sharpness, skin details appear smoother and there is an increase in shadow detail. The effects of this filter are more significant when used for video applications rather than still photography. This filter offers more smoothing than density 1, but less than density 3.
This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
