Tiffen 52mm HDTV/FX 1/4 Filter

The Tiffen 52mm HDTV/FX 1/4 filter is a light softening and diffusion filter specially designed for high-definition imaging. This filter helps reduce the hyper-sharpness typically associated with HD photography and produces an image quality closer to film photography. By slightly reducing contrast and sharpness, skin details appear smoother and there is an increase in shadow detail. The effects of this filter are more significant when used for video applications rather than still photography. This filter offers less softening than the 1/2 density.
This filter is constructed from Water White glass and manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
