Tiffen 72mm HDTV/FX 1/4 Filter
The Tiffen 72mm HDTV/FX 1/4 filter is a softening and light diffusion filter specifically designed for use with high-definition imaging. This filter helps to mitigate the excessive sharpness typically associated with HD photography and to produce an image quality closer to film photography. By slightly reducing contrast and sharpness, skin detail appears smoother and there is an increase in shadow detail. The effects of this filter are more significant when used for video applications rather than still photography. This filter offers less softening than the 1/2 density.
This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
