Tiffen 62mm Wide Angle Circular Polarising Filter (slim profile design)
Tiffen 62mm Circular Polarising Filters - Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and can also saturate colours, providing better contrast. The effect can be seen in the viewfinder and altered by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
If you are taking a walk on a beautiful day - in the mountains or at the beach - and want to capture a stunning photo of a cloud-filled sky or make the water more saturated, then a polariser is the solution. This filter is the best way to make clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean, or increase or decrease reflections on water. You can also use this filter when photographing through glass or windows, as it will again increase or decrease reflections.
If you are shooting in black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try adding a red #25 filter. The landscape will take on the appearance of an impending and threatening storm.
Along with a UV or Skylight filter, a polarising filter should be part of everyone's equipment. It can transform an ordinary image into a creative and stunning photo by increasing colour saturation.
This filter uses a wide angle mount (slim profile). In order to help eliminate vignetting (darkening of the corners), it has no front thread.
Note: Circular polarisers are specially designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (they will also work on manual systems without any problems)
