Tiffen 77mm 812 Warming Wide Angle Filter
Ideal for portraiture, the Tiffen 77mm 812 Warming Wide Angle Filter is used to enhance skin tones when shooting under cool lighting conditions. This filter provides a superior warming effect compared to a 1-A skylight filter and is perfectly suited for outdoor use on overcast days or during sunny days when working in the shade. It can also be used to absorb the strong blue cast of electronic flash for more balanced and natural-looking skin tones.
The filter is constructed using Tiffen's ColorCore technology, which involves laminating the filter material between two optical glass plates, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and mounting it in an aluminium alloy ring. The wide-angle version of this filter features a slimmer, low-profile design compared to the standard version and omits the front filter thread to reduce the risk of vignetting when using wide-angle lenses.
