The Formatt 95mm Supermist Black 1/4 filter is an excellent filter for portraits as it diffuses minute detail in a photograph and reduces overall contrast. This filter creates a softer diffusion than a standard Supermist, one of the advantages being that it doesn't open up shadow areas as much. nnAnyone doing portraits should have a diffusion filter in their bag and the Supermist Black gives you the freedom to create the most flattering images. nnFormatt, a company with three generations of experience in manufacturing professional filters, produces each filter to the highest technical standards. The finest materials, combined with cutting-edge production technology, have resulted in a level of optical excellence unmatched elsewhere.nnNote! Supermist Black filters are available in strengths ranging from 1/8 to 5, with 5 having the most pronounced effectnnn- Each filter is manufactured from Crown Schott-Desag B270 optical glassn- Absolute consistency in colour and density to Kodak Wratten standardsn- Precision grinding and polishing gives unbeatable optical flatness allowing use even on very long focal length lensesn- Filter edges are protected by a unique frame for maximum protection and easy handlingnnnSupermist RangennSupermist Black - softens fine detail and reduces contrast but is more subtle than a standard Supermist with less lightening of shadow areasnSupermist Clear - the ultimate softening tool for creating atmosphere outdoors or indoors, in wide scenes or portraits; the Supermist is excellent for controlling excessive sharpness and reducing contrast by moderately lightening shadow areas without detracting from the overall imagenWarm Supermist Black - Combines the effects of a Supermist Black with a warmer tonenWarm Supermist Clear - The Warm Supermist combines the classic Supermist with a unique skin-tone enhancer, adding natural warmth; this is useful in open shade situations outdoors where there is excess blue in the image and full control of lighting may not be possible
