The Formatt 4 x 4" Circular Polarising Filter in Crown Schott-Desag B270 optical glass - Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours for improved contrast.

The effect can be observed through the viewfinder and modified by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the filter rotation and its orientation relative to the sun.

The Formatt Crown polariser allows you to achieve a level of optical performance previously unavailable. The polarising film is manufactured between two pieces of Formatt transparent crystal-clear white optical glass. The absolute clarity of the glass combined with advanced polarising material makes Crown polarising filters particularly effective on demanding scenes.
