The Formatt 4 x 5.65" Supermist Black 2 filter is an excellent filter for portraits, as it diffuses minute details in a photograph and reduces overall contrast. This filter creates a softer diffusion than a standard Supermist, one of the advantages being that it does not lighten shadow areas as much. Anyone who photographs portraits should have a diffusion filter in their bag, and the Supermist Black gives you the freedom to create the most flattering images. Formatt, a company with three generations of experience in manufacturing professional filters, produces each filter to the highest technical standards. The finest materials, combined with cutting-edge production technology, have achieved a level of optical excellence unmatched elsewhere. Note! Supermist Black filters are available in intensities ranging from 1/8 to 5, with 5 having the most pronounced effect. - Each filter is manufactured from Schott-Desag B270 Crown optical glass - Absolute consistency in colour and density according to Kodak Wratten standards - Precision grinding and polishing offer unbeatable optical flatness allowing use even on very long focal length lenses - The filter edges are protected by a unique frame for maximum protection and easy handling Super Mist range - Super Mist Black - softens fine details and reduces contrast but is more subtle than a standard Supermist with less lightening of shadow areas - Super Mist Clear - the ultimate softening tool for creating atmosphere outdoors or indoors, in wide scenes or portraits; The Supermist is excellent for taming excessive sharpness and reducing contrast by moderately lightening shadow areas without harming the overall image - Warm Super Mist Black - Combines the effects of a Super Mist Black with a warmer tonality - Warm Super Mist Clear - The Warm Super Mist combines the classic Super Mist with a unique skin tone enhancer adding natural warmth; This is useful in open shade situations outdoors where there is an excess of blue in the image and where full lighting control may not be possible
