The Tiffen 105mm Coarse Thread Black Pro-Mist 1/2 filter helps reduce highlight values whilst slightly lowering overall contrast.

This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications.

Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters cause little loss of detail across the entire image.

The 1/2 density offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel-like quality of light.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.

Pro-Mist filters cause little loss of detail across the entire image compared to traditional diffusion and blur filters.

Particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections.
