The Tiffen 105mm Coarse Thread Black Pro-Mist 1/4 filter helps to reduce the intensity of highlights whilst slightly lowering overall contrast.

This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications.

Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail.

The 1/4 density provides more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/8, but less than the 1/2, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel-like light quality.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it onto precision metal rings.

Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail compared to traditional diffusion and soft focus filters.

Particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes.
