Combining infrared attenuation and solid neutral density, the Tiffen 138mm IRND 1.5 Circular Filter is a versatile solution for reducing exposure values and achieving neutral colour. The neutral density portion of the filter provides 5 stops of exposure reduction for working with longer shutter speeds or wider apertures. The IR portion attenuates infrared wavelengths above 700nm to facilitate working with CCD and CMOS sensors in challenging lighting conditions where infrared pollution can affect colour balance. This IR design also works proportionally to the density value, enabling comparably neutral results from one density to another under varying lighting conditions. The filter is constructed from clear white optical glass and uses Tiffen ColorCore technology to maintain clarity and quality. It measures 138mm in diameter and is suitable for use in certain mattebox and lens hood applications.
- By eliminating the need to use multiple filters simultaneously, this filter combines two distinct effects to reduce the number of filter surfaces used.
- The IRND 1.5 filter provides 5 stops of exposure reduction to enable working with longer shutter speeds or wider apertures than normally required.
- The infrared-attenuating design eliminates IR leakage above 700nm, is proportional to the neutral density value, and helps ensure clean, accurate colours and true blacks.
- Constructed with ColorCore technology in clear white optical glass to maintain image quality.
- Measures 138mm in diameter and is suitable for use with certain mattebox and lens hood applications.
