Zoom F1 Field Recorder with Shotgun Microphone

The Zoom F1 field recorder with shotgun microphone combines a two-channel F1 audio recorder with a directional SGH-6 shotgun microphone capsule to offer videographers facing fast-paced shoots a flexible solution for capturing high-quality audio for video. Light and discreet in its design, it attaches to a camera using the included SMF-1 suspension mount, which eliminates unwanted shock noise caused by vibrations during moving shots.
The F1 features a 1/8" stereo mini-jack mic/line input that provides phantom power for small microphones, and a proprietary 10-pin connector compatible with all Zoom microphone capsules. It records stereo audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz in BWF-compliant WAV format or in a variety of MP3 formats, directly to microSD or microSDHC cards. The device offers a range of single-button controls that allow quick access to recording level, limiter control, low-cut filter and output volume, as well as a 1/8" stereo jack/line output with dedicated volume control, and a monochrome LCD screen that is easy to read even in full sunlight.
The recorder features essential functions for videographers, including a tone generator for setting levels, slate tone markers for aligning audio and video, a built-in limiter to keep your levels under control during high-volume peaks, and a Rec Hold function to prevent accidental button activation. A micro-USB port is available for data exchange to and from a computer, as well as for use as an audio interface with a computer or iOS device.
The F1 runs on two standard alkaline, lithium or rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries, or an AD-17 AC adapter (sold separately), and offers a battery life of up to 6.5 hours with alkaline batteries when using the shotgun microphone. The device comes with a windscreen and a stereo cable for connecting the recorder to the camera's audio input.
