Hawk-Woods VL-MCF1 Mini V-Lok Hot Swap Camera Plate
The Hawk-Woods VL-MCF1 V-mount camera plate allows hot-swapping of two Hawk-Woods Mini V-Lok batteries. It incorporates an LED indication system that informs you when hot-swapping is possible and when it is not. When you attach your batteries, a green LED lights up continuously. When your camera begins to draw power, the green LED starts flashing. When a red LED begins to flash, this means you must perform a hot-swap now or you will soon be unable to do so. And when the red LED becomes solid, this means it is too late to perform the swap.
The intelligent LED system takes into account that when you remove one battery, the other will have to support the load of both. It determines the battery status based on the total current draw, and the red LED begins to flash at 12.7 V. The VL-MCF1 also features two D-Tap outputs to power accessories. This plate attaches to the back of most cameras compatible with V-mount plates.
Note: The VL-MCF1 is not compatible with RED cameras as the side D-Tap interferes. Please refer to the VL-MCF2 for RED compatibility.
