The PreSonus SW5E is a robust AVB network switch designed to connect digital audio devices over long distances using CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cables. The device provides Power over Ethernet (PoE) and enables audio routing anywhere on the network with extremely low latency. The AVB protocol provides a high-precision clock that significantly reduces harmonic distortion and phase shift, ensuring audio remains clean and clear. PoE allows network cables to carry electrical power to compatible devices, providing both network data, such as digital audio, and electrical power from a single cable. Four of the SW5E's five ports provide PoE, with the fifth port used for networking with additional switches to create a larger network. The robust metal housing is designed to withstand the rigours of road wear and can be rack-mounted using an optional rack tray. The PreSonus SW5E comes with a standard IEC power cord.
