AJA 3G SDI utility frame synchroniser
The FS-Mini is a broadcast-quality utility frame synchroniser that incorporates the proven reliability of AJA's FS frame synchronisation technology into a portable Mini-Converter supporting frame synchronisation of unsynchronised 3G-SDI, HD and SD video signals at an affordable price.
The FS-Mini allows users to synchronise and convert a wide range of video formats to their internal standard with 3G-SDI input and output, HDMI output and 2-channel RCA audio output. The FS-Mini also provides high-quality up-conversion, down-conversion and cross-conversion. The device also features a reference input that can be used to lock to a local reference. It can be simply controlled via local DIP switches or USB with AJA's Mini-Config application.
The FS-Mini is designed to meet the demands of broadcast engineering and live event production whilst offering incredible flexibility. It receives an unsynchronised signal, synchronises it, processes it and automatically routes it to the SDI output for production use and to the HDMI output for monitoring. The user selects the 2 audio channels that are routed to the RCA-type monitoring audio outputs.
USB and Mini-Config support
AJA's free Mini-Config software can be used with any USB-compatible AJA Mini-Converter and provides an easy-to-use graphical interface with detailed information on current input and output formats. Control all settings of any supported AJA Mini-Converter and load firmware updates from AJA that add new features.
AJA Mini-Matrix
Information on the complete range of AJA Mini-Converters is now available as a mobile application on iOS. The Mini-Converter product range is extensive and this application helps you find the right converter for any situation, wherever you are.
Universal power supply
All AJA Mini-Converters are supplied with a universal power supply that includes international plug connections for worldwide use.
Compact and portable
AJA Mini-Converters are small enough to fit behind a monitor, at the back of a rack or directly on a camera mount. A locking power connector cannot be accidentally disconnected and an optional P-TAP power cable allows battery power in remote locations.

Zoom wide: results in a combination of zoom and horizontal stretch to fill a 16x9 screen; this setting will introduce a slight change in aspect ratio

Down-conversion

Crop: The image is cropped to fit the new screen size
Anamorphic: The HD image is converted to full-screen SD with a 16x9 aspect ratio
14x9: The image is slightly reduced whilst preserving the aspect ratio, black is added at the top and bottom and the left and right sides are cropped
Auto AFD: Automatically selects the best down-conversion mode based on the Active Format Description (AFD) code of the input video

Letterbox: The image is reduced with black added at the top and bottom of the image area, with the aspect ratio preserved

HDCP

The FS-Mini does not encode the HDMI output with HDCP encryption. By definition, HD-SDI inputs to the FS-Mini are not encrypted. The HDMI specification requires HDMI monitors to support unencrypted inputs
