The Bluebell ShaxX system has been designed to provide power insertion to broadcast cameras equipped with standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors, enabling remote powering via the hybrid cable. Power can be inserted and transferred to the remote camera which can be located up to 300 m away. Combined with the Shax-CCU, cameras can be deployed remotely using an ordinary single-mode fibre optic network that may exist in a stadium, campus or metropolitan area.


The ShaxX-LITE enables the user to replace the fibre/copper hybrid cable between the camera and the CCU with a standard fibre cable and relay all communications and signals.

This frees the camera from the constraint of being connected to a local mains power supply.

The ShaxX-LITE can also be combined with Bluebell multi-format interfaces to multiplex signals from multiple cameras over a single cable. This can help reduce and simplify assembly and installation time.

The front panel LEDs provide instant feedback on the status of the link between each camera and CCU. The ShaxX-LITE is housed in a robust and reinforced aluminium enclosure, perfectly suited to outside broadcast applications and mobile configurations. An optional rack mount panel also allows 2 Shax-LITE units to be mounted in standard 19" frames.
