Description


The OTR 5840 is a flexible dual-channel electro-optical SDI transceiver suitable for SDI/ASI-DVB video signals up to 3 Gbit/s. Each channel features automatic detection of input clock frequency and signal presence with selectable resynchronisation. This module is ideally suited for demanding professional multi-format digital broadcast applications.

Two input channels can be switched between optical or electrical inputs. In non-resynchronised mode, the module will transparently transmit all data between 15 Mbit/s and 3 Gbit/s. Support for ASI/DVB and SMPTE 310 signals is also provided.

Choose from 18 transmitter wavelengths for CWDM applications, or select dual 1310 nm transmitter wavelengths for non-CWDM applications.

An integrated 4x4 signal router can be used to modify I/O channel mapping when using the LYNX control system.

Up to 10 modules (or 20 RX channels and 20 TX fibre channels) can be supported in a standard LYNX 2RU chassis. Fibre SFP sub-modules are mounted on the backplane, allowing module removal and hot-swapping without removing fibre connections from the rear I/O of the modules.
